DFS Management - Active Directory Management

DFS Management

Distributed File System (DFS) is a set of client and server services that help to organize many distributed file shares into a distributed file system. In other words, we can say that DFS facilitates accessing files located on a remote host in the same way as you work on host computer. This makes it possible for domain users to share files and resources.

CADMR helps managing DFS in a simple and flexible manner. The software enables you to create both stand-alone and domain-based DFS roots. When you run CADMR in domain controller then you can execute following DFS related operations:

  • View available DFS
  • Create stand-alone DFS
  • Create domain-based DFS
  • Modify the configuration of both stand-alone and domain-based DFS

Depending on the option you select, CADMR displays related directory attributes from which you can select the one that you want to modify. The software allows you modify both single valued and multi valued directory objects. Furthermore, the software supports multiple data types that are as follows:

  • ADSTYPE_DN_STRING
  • ADSTYPE_CASE_EXACT_STRING
  • ADSTYPE_IGNORE_STRING
  • ADSTYPE_PRINTABLE_STRING
  • ADSTYPE_NUMERIC_STRING
  • ADSTYPE_OBJECT_CLASS
  • ADSTYPE_BOOLEAN
  • ADSTYPE_INTEGER
  • ADSOBJECT_STRING
  • ADS_LARGE_INTEGER
